Miscellaneous updates to the blog this morning. A half-dozen additional links have been added, my virtual trading bookshelf is stocked, and I’ve got some plans for other improvements.

New Additions to the Links

Information Arbitrage How getting information fast can lead to profits, hence the name.

The Kirk Report One Pro’s view of the stock market. Great content, awesome array of links.

Random Roger’s Big Picture Blog about portfolio management, ETF’s, foreign stocks, and other things. Even though I don’t agree with all of his conclusions, Roger presents a reasoned perspective on how he reached them, and it makes a good read.

SINLetter Blog Blog from the SINLetter stock investment newsletter and the creator of the MustFeed aggregator site.

Tale of the Tape This site is all about moolah, dinero, bread, cheese, cheddar, coin, loot, and bounty. In other words — MONEY!!! The goal is to stack as much paper as possible while taking on limited risk. Oh, there are also some diversions for when the market is slow.

Value Blog Review A blog devoted to helping new investors figure out what blogs, websites, and other resources are helpful in providing clarity to what may sometimes seem a murky field.

Did I say a half-dozen? Here’s your lagniappe:

StockPickr! Where you can enter your portfolio, compare it to others’ portfolios, get suggestions for stocks from the pros, and more. A very similar name to another on this list … but a different site.

Trading Bookshelf

You may have noticed this in the left sidebar. It’s a link to my trading books page which contains books that are both on my shelf and have influenced my trading, investing, or money management style. At some point I will get around to doing a full review of each of these books, like I did for Reminiscences of a Stock Operator, but for now it’s enough that they’re on the site in what I hope is an attractive format.

Some of the books are more geared towards technical analysis and short-term trading; some are systems books; some are the bibles and apocrypha of value investing; and yes, there are some books on real estate as well. I may be insane, but I’m also eclectic.

I’ve declined to include books that I don’t own, and also declined to include books that I do own but thought really sucked. It’s bad enough that I bought them, why should you?

Other Plans

Eventually I’ll have a page for other media that I love; books on economics, history, and politics; a few novels; and some of the music and movies that are my faves. I don’t plan on spending the time to necessarily review all of them, but I thought it would make an interesting and entertaining place to browse when the markets are closed.
